Halesi Mahadev

It is one of the famous temples located in eastern part of Nepal. It is situated in Khotang district in Nepal above 3,100 ft. – 4,734 ft. above sea level. It is 185 km south west of Mount Everest. It is a venerated site of Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage. It is to believe that the inside Halesi Mahadev temple, the Halesi Cave has been known to be dwelling in existence since the past 6000 years. Beliefs hold that Lord Shiva hid here when hiding from the demon Bhasmasur. The location of this mystical cave is in between the holy rivers of Dudh Koshi to the right and Sun Koshi to the left. This abode of Lord Shiva gives a true sense of spirituality and belief in God. During Shivaratri, Rama Navami and Ganesh Chaturthi huge fares and festivities are observed in the region. Mahadev Cave  This cave is located at a depth of 67 feet under the surface level of land and is considered as the most religious and tourism place. Its entrance is half moon shaped which is faced towards east. It is 193 feet round in shape. There is a separate cave lying just beneath this cave. Such underlying cave is shaped flat in some parts and blown in some parts. The surface level is 223 feet in a round.
