Trek to the Mount Everest Base Camp and enjoy the grandest walk in the land of the Himalayas. With eight of the world’s ten highest peaks, Nepal is loaded with spectacular mountains vistas. Mount Everest Base Camp Trek in justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain ( 8848m ) but also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages great variety of cultures and traditions, Colourful festivals and monasteries and Everest Base Camp itself. The flora and fauna are other ornaments of the Sagarmatha National Park. The story of the yeti is still a mystery to the world from the Khumbu region.
The time duration will change if you fly to Manthali from Lukla, and usually take about 20 minutes. The flight operation from Lukla either goes to Kathmandu or Manthali Airport, depending upon the conditions.
Generally, Lukla flight operate to and from Manthali airport during peak season; Spring (March, April, May) and Fall (September, October, November). Besides, peak season, the Lukla flight operates directly to and from Kathmandu airport.
Read: Please note that sometimes there may be slight changes in itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances that are beyond our control. For instance: weather, last minute change in government rules, local politics, ill health condition of trekkers, natural disasters, flight delay/ cancellation etc. During these times, the lead trekking guide will decide the required changes, upon considering the best interest of participants. While we do our best to minimize the effect, we are not liable for the inconveniences/results due to changes or delays.
Cost Includes:
- Airport and Hotel pick up and drop off with our private vehicle.
- 2 nights’ standard accommodation in 3-star hotel in Kathmandu in a twin sharing basis including 2 breakfasts. (A single room can be arranged upon payment of extra price USD 35 per night).
- 11 nights guest house accommodation during the trek on a twin sharing basis.
- 3 standard meals a day for 11 days in the trek. (11 Breakfasts, 11 Lunches and 11 Dinners).
- Shivalaya’s experienced, government licensed, English speaking trekking guide.
- Porter services for 11 days (2:1 porter).
- Everest Base camp trekking permit that includes TIMS permit and Sagarmatha National Park permit.

Please Note: Tourist Visa for 15/30/100 days can be easily obtained upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu by paying USD 30/50/125 or equivalent foreign currency respectively.
The following gives you a general idea of trekking equipment and clothing needed for the Everest Base Camp trek.
- We provide you a complimentary duffel bag and cap in our office, Kathmandu. You can use it to pack your essential trekking equipment.
- We provide one porter services for two people. The duffel bag is carried by porter during the trek and should not weigh more than 12 kg/26.5 lbs.
- You need to carry your own backpack (with waterproof cover) where you can carry your daily essential items in your own backpack. For instance: money, important documents, water bottle/bladder, camera, toiletries, sunscreen, notebook, etc.
- You can store your luggage (non- trekking items) at the Hotel lockers in Kathmandu.
- Total luggage allotment allows at Kathmandu-Lukla flight is 15 Kg/33 lbs combining both luggage (10 Kg/22 lbs) and backpack (5Kg/11 lbs).
- Down jacket with a hood is a must for altitudes above 4,000 m to keep yourself warm. You can rent down jackets for USD 35 with us on a returnable basis. Please note that in case of loss or damage, you need to reimburse the cost of USD 100 per item.
- You can rent 4-season sleeping bags for USD 35 with us on a returnable basis. Please note that in case of loss or damage, you need to reimburse the cost of USD 100 per item.

Please Note: Our guide will bring the first-aid kit bag during the trek. However, we still recommend you to bring personal medical kit.

You need to bring the listed items, however, you can choose from your preferred brands using your expertise. Plus, you can shop the trekking equipment and clothing at a reasonable price at stores in Thamel, Kathmandu.
Note: Some clothes like tight fitting, figure hugging and usually made with Lycra can often be offensive to locals, usually women. So, if you are wearing these clothes for convenience, please make sure that you wear something on top of them.
